Overview

Dennis’ 7 Dees is Oregon’s favorite garden centers for plant lovers and garden enthusiasts and Portland’s premier landscaping services. They are a family-owned & operated business since 1956 with garden centers in Lake Oswego, Cedar Hills, and Bridgeport Village. Their landscaping clients include homeowners as well as commercial properties including Nike HQ & Campus, Daimler HQ, and Intel HQ.

As their marketing coordinator, I was responsible for all graphic design collateral in their garden centers. Signage, plant care cards/labels, landscaping and workshop flyers, coupons, marketing mailers, blog/newsletter graphics and more. I managed their social media, email/mail newsletters and all internal marketing/design requests. I was responsible for content creation at the garden centers, headshots of internal employees and coordinating photoshoots with our landscaping services teams and their client’s properties. I was asked to develop and execute customer appreciation events, harvest festivals and a house plant influencer event. We managed everything from food and drink, photography, and swag goodies. We were the point of contact for event sponsors and responsible for gaining funds to throw the influencer event. We designed pitch decks to gain sponsor donations as well as post event ROI recaps.

SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Curation of monthly social media calendars with daily posts scheduled, captions written and hashtags to increase content visibility to their 8K+ combine audience on both Instagram and Facebook

  • Community engagement on the social media- promptly replying to DM’s, comments and engaging with key target brands, prospective jobseekers and influencers on daily basis.

Garden center signage

  • Responsible for photography, design, printing and cutting by hand seasonal signage for garden centers. All measure to be roughly 3 feet x 6 feet and are printed on weather proof vinyl to withstand outdoor elements.

GARDEN CENTER MARKETING COLLATERAL

  • We were responsible for updating all print marketing collateral at our three garden center locations.

  • Created Houseplant Care Cards, photographer/curated imagery and developed copy with our inhouse Gardening Expert Nicole Forbes for care instructions and difficulty levels. These were used to double as labels at our garden centers inside our houseplant section as well as info cards customers could take home once purchasing a houseplant.
